Arsenal won't extend Thierry Henry stay

Arsenal wont extend Thierry Henry stay

New York Red Bulls manager Hans Backe has officially ruled out Thierry Henry staying at Arsenal for a longer period. The French striker has enjoyed a second spell at the Emirates Stadium, scoring a goal in the FA Cup and another last weekend in the Premier League.

However, he is expected to leave Arsenal next week, ending his short return to the Premier League. The Gunners' legend will return to New York on the 17th of February.

Arsene Wenger hinted after the Gunners' 7-1 victory over Blackburn that Arsenal could extend his stay at the club, but Arsenal have decided not to extend that loan period.

New York Red Bulls manager Hans Backe confirmed that he would be leaving.

"When I spoke to him, he told me that he was 100 per cent coming back on February 17," Backe said.

"What I know, it's only rumours. I haven't heard anything from them [Arsenal] about extending the loan."
