Sunderland agree deal to sign Chelsea striker
Sunderland have reached an agreement to sign Chelsea striker Marc Guiu on a season-long loan deal, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Spaniard joined the Blues from Barcelona last summer, but he had limited playing time in the Cup competitions last season.
Guiu was injured during the backend of his debut campaign and he has now been permitted to join the Black Cats on loan next term.
Sunderland will pay his entire wages during the loan stint, but they won't have any option to purchase him at the end of the campaign.
The Black Cats have shown plenty of ambition in the transfer market and they have already made nine signings since their promotion.
Granit Xhaka is obviously the biggest acquisition of the lot and they will be aiming to beat the drop with a strong start to the season.
Sunderland face West Ham United, Burnley and Brentford at the beginning before the first international break of the campaign.
