Newcastle gutted to miss out on Wilfried Zaha

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew yesterday revealed that Man Utd's new signing Wilfried Zaha was a player on his transfer wishlist for the January transfer window.

Zaha last week completed a move to Man Utd that will see him join the Red Devils next summer. But Newcastle's boss Pardew has revealed United were not the only team interested in his services.


Pardew quipped: 


"For the last year we've been tracking him and talking to Crystal Palace.


"But it became very evident that trying to take a player of that ability from the Championship was not easy and bigger clubs were beginning to get involved and we were out of the equation."
