Newcastle's hopes to sign Carroll dashed
Newcastle were hoping to bring former striker Andy Carroll back to the club, but their hopes to re-sign the striker have been dashed after Liverpool rejected the Toon's final offer of £10m.
West Ham United have already made a bid of £15m for the striker, which Liverpool are still considering. Newcastle's bid of £10m seems to be some way off of Liverpool's valuation.
Brendan Rodgers remains committed to the fact that Carroll will not be an important member of his squad next year, even if Luis Suarez is sold to another team.
