Sir Chips Keswick New Arsenal Chairman

Arsenal FC have appointed Sir Chips Keswick as their new Chairman. The news comes after Peter Hill-Wood decided to step down from duty owing to health related issues.

Hill-Wood who took over as Chairman from his father Denis in 1982 and served as a board member for nearly 51 years is going through a recovery phase after a heart attack last year. Peter's grandfather also served the Arsenal FC as a Chairman for two spells. He was the third generation in the lineage to have officiated as the Chairman for Arsenal.

"This has been a difficult decision as Arsenal Football Club has been a huge part of my life. Although I am feeling better I feel this is the right time for me to stand down ", said Hill-Wood. He also added to his statement that 73 year old Sir Chips is the right person to take over.

Sir Chips is a former Chairman of Hambros Bank and a director of the Bank of England who has been with the Arsenal Board for eight years now. Sir Chips, in his statement, expressed regret for Peter standing down from position and he said that it would be an honour for him to take over and steer Arsenal to a successful future.
