Rodgers wants Lucas Piazon loan deal
According to media reports, Liverpool are planning to bring Luzas Piazon to Anfield in a season long loan deal.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rogers will be looking to use his connections at Chelsea to secure the signing of the highly rated playmaker.
The former Swansea manager spent four years at the West London club, much of which with the current Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho. He started first as head youth team coach and then as reserve team .
This will surely fend off any interest from Crystal Palace who have been monitoring Piazon for sometime.
The 19 year old impressed on his Premier League debut, coming on to play the final 20 minutes in Chelsea’s thumping 8-0 win over Aston Villa last season. The starlet provided an assist to Ramires after which he failed to convert a penalty of his own.
Piazon was loaned out to Malaga for the second half of last term, making 11 appearances for the first team in the La Rosaleda side.
Piazon has indeed made his desire to make an impact in the forthcoming season, stating:
‘It’s hard to say how often I will play or if I will play at all. We have to wait and see if any Premier League clubs will be interested in me.’
Adding: ‘I am excited, everything will change. It will be very good to work with someone like Mourinho.’
With Rodgers more willing to trust the youth as shown last season when he gave the likes of Raheem Sterling, Suso and Andre Wisdom lengthy spells in the first team. Lucas Piazon would love to gain first team experience and an Anfield move would help him evolve as a top player.
