Joe Kinnear To Join Newcastle As Director

The Magpies are sure left to be stunned after Newcastle owner Mike Ashley made the announcement citing the details of Joe Kinnear latest association with the Toon Army.

Kinnear makes a return to Newcastle as the director of football, a decision that sure comes under shocking circumstances, also for team manager Alan Pardew. Kinnear earlier served as manager for about 6 months for the team but had to step down on health grounds after suffering a heart attack. After the incident, Kinnear hasn't been much in the news.

The Irishman's appointment brings in doubt the role of manager Alan Pardew. More so after, in an interview the 66 year old manager confirmed his three year contract as the director of football. He also insisted that he, and not Graham Carr (Chief Scout), would be in charge of the transfer operations.

No doubt, this shocking decision would trouble the status of Pardew and Carr in the club. Both of them signed their eight year contract last year.

Kinnear intends to hold talks with Alan in the coming days to discuss the future of the team along with the spots to work on.

“I’ve been very fortunate in my life as a manager, I’ve been manager of the year three times and I’ve had a great football career, so I think I’m ideal for this situation,” added Kinnear.
