Anzhi ace claims Arsenal interest
Anzhi Makhachkala midfield star Odil Ahmedov claims he is being tracked vigorously by Arsenal. The holding midfield has been scouted by several clubs across Europe and is highly rated, with the Gunners keeping track on his progress.
Uzbek International Odil Ahmedov joined Mega-rich Anzhi from Pakhtakor Tashkent in 2011 and has scored twice in 60 first team appearances in the the Russian Football Premier League since then. The 25-year-old reckons Wenger has taken note of his performances.
"It is true I have interest from Arsenal - their scouts have watched me in every match this season," Ahmedov told Izvestia. "If I move there, I could be a huge success but there is no bid yet."
As indicated by Arsenal's Chief Executive Ivan Gazidis, the Gunners have a transfer kitty of over £70m and it will be fascinating to see whether Arsene Wenger considers the Uzbek International as a top priority.
