Mario Gomez’s agent has denied the reports that link the striker to Italy’s Fiorentina. The German international will begin his pre-season training with European champions Bayern Munich on Wednesday.

It had earlier been suggested by several media reports that Gomez had agreed to join Fiorentina on a four year deal, a contract valued at about 20 million euros. But his agent, Uli Ferber has ruled out all such reports in his interview with German broadcaster Sport1.

"He has not agreed with any club and will train today, and in the next few days, in Munich, as normal"

"Anything else is just pure speculation at the moment."

Bayern Munich had scheduled its first training session on Wednesday night, under the new head coach Pep Guardiola. Guardiola has said that all the players have the same chance to impress him ahead of the new season.

The club’s chairman, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, said that no official offer had been made by any club for the striker, who has been linked to other clubs like Juventus and Atletico Madrid.

Gomez, who is bound to the club until his contract expires in 2016 , has had a frustrating season, the previous one, having lost his first-team place to Croatia’s Mario Mandzukic. Despite being largely confined to the bench, the German netted 19 goals for the club last season.
