Everton Reject United's Bid For Baines

Everton Reject United's Bid For Baines

The latest development in the United-Baines-Everton story comes in from the Toffees, who are unwilling to let their flamboyant defender Leighton Baines exit the club.

Former Everton manager David Moyes, who has taken charge at the Old Trafford, had reportedly placed a £12m bid for the 27-year-old in a much expected move. But it seems now that the Merseysiders are in no mood to negotiate for Baines.

Although, the Blues believe that the bid placed for the England international is much below his market value, yet they consider it irrelevant as they have no plans of letting him go.

Baines has been the most consistent performer for the club recently and is now challenging Ashley Cole as England’s left-back. Spanish Roberto Martinez will be back in country tomorrow and it will be interesting to know his plans for the summer.

Baines is also optimistic to work with the newly appointed manager. He also spoke about his coaching style that he feels is “progressive”.

"He was one of the first names linked with the job and the feeling straight away was he would be a great appointment”

"He has a different style to what we have been used to but I think it is progressive and it will move us forward”

"It is also exciting for the players to be able to try that now. The style in general appeals to a lot of people”

"By the time we kick the first ball of the season we will be well versed on what he wants to do.”
