Real Madrid Drop Interest In Gareth Bale
Real Madrid Drop Interest In Gareth Bale
Spanish giants Real Madrid seem to have given up their pursuit of Tottenham’s Gareth Bale. Madrid have reportedly surrendered before White Hart Lane’s stubborn determination to retain the coveted striker to the club.
According to Marca, the Spanish newspaper, Real will no longer push for Bale’s transfer anymore this season, although they will make an attempt to lure the Welshman to Bernabeu next year.
Real Madrid have been targeting the star striker for very long now and they were adamant in completing his signing for the club this summer. But as the events have turned out to be, Bale seems all content and happy with his position at the current club and the Spurs are in no mood to negotiate a deal for him with any club.
Bale’s agent, Jonathan Barnett, revealed last night that the striker is ready to return to pre-season training next week, whereas Madrid had yet to make an offer.
The Marca website reads:
"Real Madrid have decided to put the Gareth Bale signing on hold. After receiving yet another "no" from Tottenham Hotspur, Florentino Perez and his team have decided to call it a day and now see the signing of Bale this summer as impossible.
"Daniel Levy, the English club's president, is not open to negotiation, and faced with such inflexibility, reaching any sort of agreement is not viable."
Tottenham realize that Bale is their key asset and they need to do everything to lure him into staying. They have improved his current weekly wage structure to £130,000 a week, an offer that has convinced the 23-year-old to continue at the White Hart Lane.
Marca report further reads:
"Bale has no release clause, will not be making a transfer request, and considers that, being only 23, he has time enough to make the jump into the big time. And when that happens, he wants it to be with 'Los Blancos'."
