Ryan Giggs named player-coach at Man Utd
Man Utd winger Ryan Giggs has been named as player-coach. The Welsh wing wizard will join part of David Moyes' new look backroom coaching team, after today completing the signing of Phil Neville.
Giggs had supposedly considered retiring at the end of last season, but then Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson persuaded Giggs to play on for another year.
"I'm delighted that Ryan has accepted the chance to become player-coach," said Moyes.
The player, who turns 40 in November, was clearly delighted to have been named part of the team.
"I'm really looking forward to working alongside David and the team," said Giggs.
