Barcelona Give A Ten Day Ultimatum to Thiago

It appears that the La Liga champions, Barcelona, are sick of all the fuss being made over their coveted midfielder Thiago Alcantara’s transfer this summer. Barcelona have reportedly asked Thiago to clear his stand over his future at Camp Nou within the next 10 days.

The Barcelona based daily, Sport, has reported that Thiago and his father have been told that the club wishes to settle the issue as soon as possible, before they start their pre-season training on July 15.

The U21 Spanish star has been on a holiday since winning the MVP award in the U21 Euro tournament and has not spoken to his club about his decision. Thiago has to choose between an offer from Manchester United, who are ready to pay €18 million for him, and his boyhood club Barcelona, who have seen him grow into a talented midfielder.

Thiago has been strongly linked with a move to the Old Trafford as he is being assured of regular first-team chances by Moyes, something Tito Vilanova can not guarantee him of. Vilanova has made it very clear that he does not intend to bench Xavi or Iniesta in favour of letting the youngster play.
