Luis Suarez Still Keen On Leaving Liverpool

It has been suggested by some media reports that Suarez, who is currently on holiday in Uruguay, is due back at Liverpool on 21 July. Suarez claimed that he is aware of “two or three” clubs willing to sign him this summer.

The 26-year-old striker had earlier said that the reason for him wanting to opt out of the Anfield club was the unfair treatment by the English media and the FA for racially abusing Manchester United’s Patrice Evra. But now his agent Pere Guardiola in a meeting with Reds boss Brendan Rodgers revealed Suarez’s desire to play in the Champions League was a big factor in his client wanting out.

Suarez, in his interview, also said that he was aware of Arsenal’s interest in him and he appreciated it. Arsenal had placed a £30m offer for the striker which was rejected by Liverpool, who continue to be reluctant in selling the Uruguayan.

Suarez has been very open in expressing his fondness for the Spanish giants Real Madrid. He was insistent on leaving not only the club but also England but now that Arsenal have shown interest in the player and there has been no official confirmation of a move from the La Liga, it seems likely that Suarez will have consider his options in the Premier League.

“It's good that the English clubs still want me", Suarez said.

"I have to present myself on the 21st with Liverpool for their tour of Australia but no one knows what could happen. I've already said what I have to say, and initially I have to be there on the 21st but maybe a phone call one day can change all your plans.”
