PSG Not Chasing Rooney
Paris Saint-Germain have dropped out of contention for the England striker Wayne Rooney. PSG coach, Laurent Blanc, confirmed that the club would not go after Manchester United’s striking ace.
Wayne Rooney’s future at the Old Trafford has been a topic of discussion throughout the summer and lately he has been ‘angry and confused’ about his position at the club.
Even though David Moyes is insistent on not selling the striker, Rooney is still being monitored by a host of Premier League clubs including the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea. In fact, Jose Mourinho saw his initial bid for Rooney get rejected by United last week.
PSG were reportedly another strong contenders for Rooney until now. Laurent Blanc has revealed that the Ligue 1 champions will no more chase the powerful striker. According to Blanc, PSG has a strong strike- force and they are focused on bolstering the midfield now.
"He is an amazing player, his qualities are well known by everyone. But in attack we are well supplied," Blanc said.
"We will rather look for players in midfield. If there should be another reinforcement, it should be in that position. Rooney could play anywhere, but his best position is in the heart of attack."
