Gonzalo Higuain To Be Unveiled By Napoli On Monday

Gonzalo Higuain, one of the most sought after summer signings, has caused a mania in Naples with his arrival to complete his switch from Real Madrid. The deal that reportedly cost the Azzurri €40 million, was announced on Saturday by the club president Aurelio De Laurentiis.

He has prompted huge response and widespread excitement amongst his fans, who have already secured 50,000 tickets to witness his official unveiling on Monday. Aurelio confirmed that Higuain and Pepe Reina have passed their medicals and will soon join the rest of the team.

The president said, "On Monday there will be a big party at the San Paolo. You will be able to get to know the new players and the new shirts."

The grand unveiling of Higuain is being compared with the arrival of his far-famed compatriot, Diego Maradona, who joined Napoli in 1984.

The 25-year-old, who scored 122 goals in six seasons for his former club, Real Madrid, was also a subject of interest for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, who was reluctant to meet his release clause.
