Sunderland, Aston Villa tracking Danilo D’Ambrosio

Both Sunderland and Aston Villa are in the race to sign talented Italian full back Danilo D'Ambrosio. The versatile 24-year-old has already instructed his agent to help him find a new club this summer.

The player, who is comfortable playing in both midfield or defence, has a contract that runs out at the end of this coming season and so is ready to move elsewhere for a new deal.


The 6 foot 1 defender scored 2 Serie A goals for Torino last year and has attracted the interest of Cagliari and Siena, but Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio's connections in Italy could help the Black Cats secure the deal.
