Arsenal plot move for Real Madrid star Luka Modric

The Gunners are set to fight it out with Manchester United for the signing of Real Madrid star midfielder Luka Modric according to Sports Direct News. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is keen on landing the Bernabeu star having previously failed in an attempt Gonzalo Higuain who opted a move to Serie A side Napoli.

Having already represented North London rivals Tottenham, such a move would be more than a tad contentious and if the Croatian International were to make a move to the Emirates this summer, many fans across White Hart Lane would be unpleased.


The 27 year old midfielder had struggled to play in the starting line-up last season having notched up 36 starts in all competitions. The signing of the talented Croatian International would add more steel to the midfield line-up of the Emirates side but there seems less urgency in the pursuit for the midfielder given the Gunners' troubles in making up a deal for their top priority - Liverpool's Luis Suarez.
