Sunderland still hopeful Tom Huddlestone will join club
Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio's efforts to sign Tom Huddlestone will continue through to the end of the transfer window. It is understood that Tottenham directors will not sit down with the Black Cats until the transfer of Gareth Bale is completed.
Spurs have long been trying to sell the midfielder to another team but have so far failed in their efforts to find a potential suitor.
Huddlestone has barely appeared in the first team last season as Brazilian midfielder Sandro impressed.
Sunderland have already tabled a massive offer for Huddlestone but await a positive response from Tottenham before being able to speak to Huddlestone about his personal terms.
