Liverpool renew interest in Tiago Ilori
Liverpool have reignited their interest in Portuguese defender Tiago Ilori, who they failed with a £3m pound bid for earlier this summer, but are ready to step up their efforts after Ilori refused to sign a contract extenstion with his club, Sporting Lisbon.
Ilori has played 12 games for Sporting's first team since 2011, and is capped at all youth levels for Portugal. Ilori can play as a central defender or a defensive midfielder.
Brendan Rodgers may improve on his previous bid of £3m to about £5m. Liverpool's scouts were present yesterday at Sporting's game against Arouca yesterday, which Ilori didn't feature in.
