Barcelona boss lashes out at Madrid over Bale fee

New Barcelona boss Gerardo 'Tata' Martinez launched a scathing attack on La Liga rivals Real Madrid over the ridiculous money they are spending to bring Tottenham winger Gareth Bale to Bernabeu.

The Los Blancos are set to pay Spurs a fee over €100 million to secure the services of the Welshman breaking the exisiting world records for transfers. The previous record is held by Madrid when they signed Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United back in 2008.

The Argentine, who recently took over as the manager at Camp Nou following Tito Vilanova's departure due to health issues, believes that this would send out a wrong message to the entire world who are still reeling from the effects of economic downturn.

"How I feel about Madrid signing Bale for about €100m? He is an excellent player, but the fee that's being mentioned shows a lack of respect for the world we live in," Martino said at a press conference.

Real Madrid have already left out the number 11 shirt for Bale and the formal announcement would be made anytime soon according to reports.
