Celtic desperate to add to their squad
Scottish giants Celtic have had an offer for Peterborough striker Lee Tomlin turned down as they mull over a loan offer for Manchester United young full back Alexander Buttner ahead of the transfer deadline.
Celtic have had to lose quite a few of their top performers this summer and manager Neil Lennon is eager to strengthen his squad after qualifying through to the Champions League group phase.
Manchester United's Dutch youngster Alex Buttner has been struggling for first team opportunities ever since his move from Vitesse last summer. Lennon wants to give the youngster a chance to get some important first team action and David Moyes is believed to be willing to let the youngster leave.
Meanwhile, Tomlin has been in fantastic form for the Posh this season having already scored six times but the Championship side are unlikely to let the striker leave so late in the transfer window.
