Mangala flattered by City interest but happy to be at Porto

Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala has confirmed that he is content with life at the club and never wanted to move to Manchester City this summer.

The France international was strongly linked with a move to the Eastlands this summer after Manuel Pellegrini identified him as one of the potential signings to shore up the frail defense. However, Porto turned their advances down and remain adamant over keeping him until his release clause is met.

"I am delighted to continue and progress with Porto," he told Sky Sports.

"I like the club and I never asked to leave and they were not willing to sell me in the first place.

"People talk about my valuation as high but it is not me who prices me. But it does not affect me, my job is to come and perform at my best on the green surface.

"Man City is nowadays one of the big clubs in the world so you are always flattered by their interest in you."
