Arsenal defender Gibbs believes Mesut Ozil can take the Gunners to the next level

Arsenal left-back Kieran Gibbs believes the signing of German midfielder Mesut Ozil can take the Gunners to the next level.

The 24-year-old completed a sensational move to the North London club from Real Madrid on transfer deadline day for a club record fee of £42.5million.


In an interview on Arsenal Player, Gibbs gave his opinion on how the club record signing would enhance the squad to the next level, as they aim to end their eight-year trophy drought. 


Gibbs said : "It is a statement to what the club want to do and what the club want to achieve.


"It is something that everyone has been waiting for so now we have a big signing to help push us to the next level. "He has got a clinical side to him and technically he is world-class.


"He is going to create a lot of problems for opposition we come up against and hopefully he can continue the form that he had with Real Madrid."


Arsenal, who are currently fourth in the Premier League table, faceoff against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.
