Pepe Reina expects Liverpool transfer exit
Napoli's on loan goalkeeper Pepe Reina has told reporters that he fully expects to stay with the Serie A side and to sign a long term deal with Rafa Benitez's side. Liverpool let Reina leave on loan for the season after signing Simon Mignolet.
Pepe Reina admits that he was surprised to have been allowed to leave Anfield in the first place and has told the Daily Mirror that he would like to remain in Italy for the long term.
Reina said: "At the moment it's difficult to think about being a Liverpool player next year. They have a young goalkeeper in Simon Mignolet and the manager prefers him to me.
"That's the reason why I'm here (at Napoli) and he will be at the club next year as well. There's no reason to think I'll be a Liverpool player from now on but we'll see where the future takes us. It's been a good move so far and I don't regret what happened. I would have preferred to say goodbye in a different way."
