Barcelona considering January swoop for Jan Vertonghen

La Liga giants Barcelona are reportedly pondering over making a January transfer offer for Tottenham's Belgian defender Jan Vertonghen.
The Belgium international, who joined the Lilywhites from Dutch giants Ajax last summer, is said to be unhappy with manager Andre Villas-Boas over him being played at left-back.
Reports in Spain suggest that the Catalan club are monitoring the player's situation and may make a bid in the region of £20m in order to lure him to the Nou Camp during the New Year.
Barcelona are believed to be eager in strengthening their defensive department, with Vertonghen considered a prime candidate due to his eligibility to play in the Champions League.
