Arsenal interested in Belgian youngster Michy Batshuayi

Standard Liege President Roland Duchatelet has confirmed that Premier League outfit Arsenal have shown interest in signing Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi.

The 20-year-old Belgian youngster, who has already notched up an impressive 20 goals for the club in all competitions this season has been on the Gunners' radar for the past few weeks, but Duchatelet has insisted that the club would not allow the sale of the talented starlet during the winter transfer window.


Duchatelet said : "What is new is the interest of Arsenal in Michy. They're one of the many clubs who follow our striker, but we're not willing to let Michy go this season."


Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger could well try to tempt the Belgian outfit with a January transfer offer, as the player might earn a place in the Belgian national setup for the World Cup finals next year, thereby bumping his transfer value.
