Obafemi Martins linked with West Ham loan switch
Seattle Sounders striker Obafemi Martins has been linked with a return to the Premier League on a temporary basis with West Ham United in January.
The talented Nigerian International forward had been in good form for the Major League Soccer outfit last season, having notched up 7 goals for the club in 15 league appearances.
The speculation comes about as manager Sam Allardyce is in search for a genuine goal-scorer during the winter transfer window, following the club's recent miserable league run, and a loan deal for Martins could well be completed during the New Year.
Should the Hammers sign the Nigerian star, he would be available to ply his trade with the club until the first week of March, 2014 and stand at a better chance of featuring for the Super Eagles in the World Cup finals in Brazil.
Martins has previously played in the England's top tier with Newcastle United and Birmingham City.
