Chelsea set to renew interest in Man Utd star Wayne Rooney

Chelsea have reportedly reinvigorated their interest in signing Manchester United's star striker Wayne Rooney at the end of the season.

The Blues manager Jose Mourinho is understood to be preparing a new bid to sign the talented England International next summer, following the player's reluctance to open up talks with the Red Devils over a new contract extension.


The Mirror claims that Rooney could make the move to West London during the summer, as he aims to find a fresh challenge for himself, following his club's dismal run in the Premier League this campaign under new manager David Moyes.


Mourinho is unsure of a January bid for Rooney, as the player is unlikely to change sides, as he aims to maintain his goal scoring form for his country's World Cup ambitions in Brazil next year.
