PSG open talks to sign Chelsea star Juan Mata

Paris St Germain have contacted Chelsea regarding a potential transfer for Chelsea attacking midfielder Juan Mata. The Spain international has fallen out of favour at the Bridge under manager Jose Mourinho and has been told that he can leave the club.

Mata has long been linked with a return to his former club Valencia, but according to reports from Spain, the international midfielder would prefer to move elsewhere in Europe. Since the arrival of Jose Mourinho, Mata's opportunities in the first team at Chelsea have been limited.


Paris St Germain have an enormous 60 million Euro budget to spend on new players in January and French papers have reported that a large chunk of that budget would be spent on Chelsea's out of favour midfielder.
