Clichy: no foreign rules
Arsenal's French left back Gael Clichy believes that there should be no restriction on foreign players in the Premiership, instead rather a focus on quality rather than nationality.
The FIFA president Sepp Blatter has proposed that starting line-up be restricted to just five overseas stars and recently Manchester City defender Vedran Corluka has also made it clear that the Premier League and England FA need to make a decision whether they want a great league or a successful national team.
"The nationality is not the main important thing, it is just the quality you want your team to play," the 22-year-old French left-back told Arsenal TV Online.
"The boss (Arsene Wenger) has made something great here, the way we like to entertain people, and I am sure that it doesn't matter for him.
"If you have to see about a player if they are English, French or Spanish, if he has the quality he will be in his team, and if not he wonât be in his team. Let the manager do the job.
"I think everyone is proud to say they play in the best league in the world because with all the players here and the English players we are making something good."
