Man Utd monitoring William Carvalho

Manchester United are reportedly preparing a summer swoop for Sporting Lisbon defensive midfielder William Carvalho.

The Red Devils manager David Moyes is keen on landing the services of the talented star before the start of the next season.

According to the Metro, Carvalho, who is often compared to former Arsenal legend Patrick Viera, was tracked by the Red Devils scouts during Sporting Lisbon's 0-0 draw with Academica during the weekend.

The Angolan-born star earned his first cap for the Portuguese national side during the 3-2 win over Sweden in the World Cup play-offs.
