Arsenal duo sign new contracts
Arsenal have confirmed that Tomas Rosicky and Per Mertesacker have extended their stay with the club.
The Gunners have yet to disclose the length of the contract extensions. Rosicky, who joined the North London outfit from Borussia Dortmund in 2006, has been in top form for the North London outfit over past month and his displays have been recognized by the new deal.
Meanwhile, Mertesacker has broken through his lean streak during his debut season at Arsenal in 2011 to become the backbone to the club's excellent defensive organisation.
The news was confirmed on the club's official website by manager Arsene Wenger.
"We are delighted that Mertesacker and Rosicky have committed their futures to the club," The Frenchman said.
"They are players of exceptional quality and experience, and have consistently proven themselves at the highest level. There is a great feeling of togetherness and belief in the group and this news will only help to strengthen this further."
Arsenal face-off against Swansea City in the Premier League on Saturday.
