Bendtner set for summer exit

Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner has revealed that he would leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the current campaign.

The talented Danish star made his way into the Gunners first-team and scored an excellent goal in the dying minutes to earn the club a well earned victory over Cardiff City in January, but an injury spoiled his excellent comeback.

Since then Bendtner has failed to make any progress into the first-team with French youngster Yaya Sanogo preferred ahead of him in the pecking order.

The 26-year-old has now insisted that he will look at a fresh challenge once his contract expires with the North London club in the summer.

"I’m not going to stay at Arsenal – first team football is what I’m after," The Dane said. "The plan is for me to move on. I’m ready for a new challenge. When I find my right club, I am sure that everything will be all right in itself, if there are no more injuries."

Bendtner has scored 47 goals in 169 appearances for the Gunners since his debut in 2005.
