Robbie Keane backs Defoe
Robbie Keane has backed Jermain Defoe to comeback after his spot kick misery against West Ham at the weekend. Tottenham were unlucky not to get all three points after Jermain Defoe missed a penalty in the last minute to finish up with the game at 1-1.
Hammers keeper Robert Green guessed right to stop Defoeâs low penalty kick in the stoppage time of the 1-1 Premiership draw at Upton Park on Sunday.
"Taking penalties, as I know myself, is not easy," Keane, who had been taken off for Defoe on 77 minutes, said on the clubâs official website.
"The keeper pulled off a great save and you have to give him credit for that.â
"It is one of those things, Jermain is a top class player and I've seen him score many penalties over the years and he will again, no problem," he added.
