Chelsea, Liverpool interested in Lazar Markovic

Chelsea and Liverpool are reportedly prepared to battle for the signature of Benfica midfielder Lazar Markovic in the summer.

The 20-year-old midfielder has been in good form for the Primeira Liga giants throughout the current campaign, and has attracted interested from the Premier League duo in recent weeks.

 

According to The Mirror, The Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to outbid the Blues to secure the services of the talented Serbian international, as he seeks to add depth to his midfield department, with the prospect of playing in the Champions League next season.

 

Markovic has notched up six goals in 32 appearances for Benfica this season.
