Sunderland duo set for summer exit
Sunderland boss Gus Poyet has revealed that midfielder Jack Colback and defender Phil Bardsley will leave the club on a free this summer.
The duo have apparently rejected new deals with the Black Cats and will likely leave the club when their contracts expire in June.
Poyet admitted that the talented pair will leave the Stadium of Light in the summer, eventhough the club survive relegation from the Premier League this season.
"Everybody knows we have been in contract talks with a couple of players, but at the moment everything is on standby," the former Brighton manager said. "I'm not stupid, I understand it brings uncertainty to the club for the future. To be honest, it doesn't matter where we finish - I cannot see them staying at the club."
Sunderland are currently bottom of the Premier League, seven points adrift of safety with two games in hand.
