Real Madrid join race for Liverpool target

Liverpool could be dented with a blow in their pursuit of Sevilla midfielder Ivan Rakitic, with Real Madrid apparently joining the race for the player's services.

The talented Croatian international has been in excellent for the La Ligao outfit , and played a key role in the club's triumph in the Europa League this season.

 

Latest reports reveal that Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelloti is willing to offer a fee in the region of £20m for the Croatian star, who has been linked with a summer switch to the Premier League in recent months.

 

It is believed that the Sevilla skipper would favour a move to the Capital club rather than Liverpool, as he is already acclimatized with the game in the La Liga.
