Lazar Markovic on Liverpool radar

The BBC are reporting this morning that Liverpool are chasing Benfica forward Lazar Markovic and have tabled a bid in the region of £25 million for his signature. Markovic's move to England will depend on Luis Suarez's anticipated transfer to Barcelona.

Barcelona have agreed a fee with Liverpool for the transfer of Suarez and Brendan Rodgers' side have already almost wrapped up a deal for Divock Origi with just some paperwork left to be sorted.

Markovic had an outstanding campaign last season as he helped guide Benfica to the Portuguese league title.

The Serbian winger has two years remaining on his deal in Benfica and the Portuguese side will reluctantly let the 20-year-old leave.
