Arsenal hand trial to Egyptian defender
Arsenal have reportedly offered a trial to Al Ahly defender Ahmed Fathi, according to the club's official Facebook page.
The Gunners completed the signing of Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona yesterday, and are understood to be closing in on a move for Newcastle United defender Mathieu Debuchy, with the transfer fee being the major hindrance in the deal.
According to Al Ahly's official Facebook page, Ahmed Fathi, who has previously plyed his trade in England with Sheffield United and Hull City, will travel to North London to undergo a trial with the Gunners, ahead of a potential transfer if he impresses in his stint.
The 29-year-old has earned 101 caps for the Egyptian national side.
