West Bromwich Albion have completed the signing of Sebastien Pocognoli from Hannover 96 for an undisclosed fee.

The left-back has agreed to a three-year deal, with a further year’s option and the 26-year-old has become the West Brom's fourth summer signing.

Baggies have already completed the signings of Chris Baird, Craig Gardner and Joleon Lescott.

The Belgian will join his new teammates on 14 July when he reports for pre-season training.

He played for Genk, AZ Alkmaar and Standard Liege before joining German club Hannover. At AZ Alkmaar he played under new Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal when they won the Eredivisie (Dutch league) title in 2008-09 season.

He had joined Hannover in January 2013.

“Sebastien is an experienced left-back who has played at a high level for many years. He has joined us with a real hunger to prove himself at Albion and get back into the international set-up," the new West Brom head coach Alan Irvine said.

West Brom open their Premier League campaign at home to Sunderland on August 16.
