Maicon wants to stay at Roma
Brazilian defender Maicon is ready to commit his future to Italian side Roma after expressing his wishes to sign a new deal with the club.
The 32-year-old is under contract with the Serie A giants until June 2015 and is hopeful to renew his contract soon.
Maicon moved to Roma last summer from Manchester City on a free transfer and scored two goals in 28 league appearances to help the Giallorossi finish runners-up in Serie A in the 2013-14 campaign.
"We are on the right path and we saw it last season. I want to renew my contract immediately, I have no intention of leaving," He said.
The 32-year-old is currently on holiday and recently competed for Brazil, finishing fourth at the World Cup tournament.
Maicon has followed Roma's movements in the transfer season and is excited with the new signings.
Roma, managed by Frenchman Rudi Garcia, have signed former Chelsea defender Ashley Cole and ex-Fulham midfielder Urby Emanuelson, both joining the club this month as free agents.
