Liverpool ready fresh offer for Ben Davies

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is reportedly readying a renewed bid for Swansea City defender Ben Davies, according to The Star.

The Reds had their initial bid of £8m knocked back by the Welsh outfit, while league rivals Tottenham Hotspur were deemed to have agreed on a £10m deal in principle to sign the young full-back.

The Star claims that the Merseysiders are now keen on making a fresh offer for the Wales international, having seen their pursuit of Sevilla's Alberto Moreno come to an end.

Liverpool kicked off their pre-season with a 2-1 defeat to Brondby last night.
