Tottenham to give struggling duo chance in first team
Tottenham mananger Mauricio Pochettino is to give struggling midfielder Erik Lamela a chance in his first team ahead of the new season. Iago Falque, who had been very highly rated by Spurs, is also set to be given a chance by Pochettino.
Erik Lamela's first season in England proved to be very difficult as the Argentine battled with the physical nature of the Premier League and having to work under two different managers. In pre-season, Lamela has started to show his quality after scoring two goals in a friendly against Toronto yesterday.
Meanwhile Iago Falque is also set to be given a run in the first team. The attacking midfielder, 24, has been on the books at White Hart Lane for two seasons but spent last season on loan at Rayo Vallecano. He also spent four years playing for Juventus and also had spells at Real Madrid and Barcelona as a youngster.
Pochettino is reportedly very impressed with Falque's performances in training.
