Liverpool join hunt for Barca defender

Liverpool have joined Manchester United in the race to sign Brazilian superstar Daniel Alver this summer, TalkSPORT reports.

The Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has been keen on adding plenty of reinforcements this summer, but still lacks the presence of top-class full-backs.

According to TalkSPORT, the Merseysiders are ready to step up their pursuit for the talented right-back, with league rivals United also in the reckoning for the player's signature this summer.

It is understood that Barca boss Luis Enrique is open to the sale of Alves, as he prepares to bring in fresh faces at the club.
