Arsenal make last gasp bid for full back Javier Manquillo

Despite Javier Manquillo having last night stepped a closer to sealing a season long loan switch to Liverpool, Arsenal have made yet another bid to Atletico Madrid to sign the talented defender.

Manquillo had been spotted in Liverpool yesterday and is scheduled to undergo a medical at Melwood this afternoon.

Despite that, Arsene Wenger wants to bring Manquillo to the Gunners as it appears that Calum Chambers could be deployed as a centre back this coming campaign and the Gunners are short having lost Carl Jenkinson on loan to West Ham.

Manquillo will confirm where he will be playing his football for 2014-15 by Wednesday afternoon at the latest.
