Man Utd plot £30m bid for Mehdi Benatia

Manchester United are reportedly lining up a summer swoop for Roma defender Mehdi Benatia, as per The Express.

The Red Devils have been in the search for a top-class replacement for Nemanja Vidic, who left Old Trafford for Inter Milan earlier in the summer.

According to The Express, United boss Louis van Gaal is open to making a bid in the region of £30m for the Moroccan international, who has been a revelation for the Serie A outfit over the past season.

The Mancunian giants have also shown interest in Borussia Dortmund's Mat Hummels in recent weeks.
