Man Utd boss quiet on Angel di Maria speculation

Manchester United boss Louis Van Gaal has declined to comment on the speculation linking star winger Angel di Maria with a switch to the club.

The Argentine international has been constantly linked with a move to Old Trafford, having requested to leave Real Madrid during the current transfer window.

Reports earlier had revealed that the talented winger was on the cusp of joining the Mancunian giants for a British record transfer fee. However, Van Gaal has cooled down talks suggesting that he could not give voice on potential arrivals until they are finalized.

"I cannot say anything about transfers, you have to understand that," the Dutchman said.

United earned their first point of the league campaign with a 1-1 draw at Sunderland on Sunday.
