Spurs eye move for Basel defender

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly preparing a summer offer for Basel centre back Fabian Schar, as per The Mirror.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is believed to be keen on bolstering the club's defensive department, and has already signed the likes of Eric Dier and Ben Davies this summer.

The Mirror claims that Spurs are ready to make a move for the talented Swiss international, having failed to make any progress in their pursuit of Villarreal's Mateo Musacchio.

Schar has been in top form for the Swiss champions in recent seasons, and has been previously linked with a switch to North London rivals Arsenal.
