Samuel Eto'o to undergo Everton medical

Cameroon international Samuel Eto'o looks set to have a medical with Everton today ahead of signing a two-year deal with the Meyseyside club.

Eto'o is currently a free-agent following his release from Chelsea this summer, and was recently linked with a switch to league rivals Liverpool.

However, his transfer to Liverpool failed to materialize after the Reds succeeded in sealing a deal for AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli.

According to The Mail, the Toffees boss Roberto Martinez is keen on signing an experience forward to partner Romelu Lukaku upfront this season and the former Chelsea star is apparently reckoned as the ideal solution.

Eto'o will finalize his transfer to Goodison Park should he undergo a successful medical.
